2022 MG Gloster comes with first-in-segment features such as Door Open Warning (DOW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and Lane Change Assist (LCA)
MG Motor India has today announced the launch of the updated Gloster in the domestic market with a starting price of Rs. 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The country’s first premium SUV with Level 1 autonomy comes with additional first-in-segment features such as Door Open Warning (DOW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and Lane Change Assist (LCA).
These along with the existing 30 standard safety features make the new Gloster a force to be reckoned with in the full-size SUV segment. It also gains a set of all-new British Windmill Turbine-themed alloy wheels in 4WD variants. The 2022 MG Gloster comes with a new ‘Deep Golden’ exterior body shade and is retailed alongside existing colours: Metal Black, Metal Ash and Warm White.
Speaking on the launch of the 2022 MG Gloster, Rajeev Chaba, President and Managing Director, MG Motor India, said, “The Gloster is known for being bold, sturdy, versatile, and luxurious, and we are grateful for our customers’ response to it. With its 2WD and 4WD trims, powerful engine options, next-gen technology, Autonomous Level 1 and MY MG Shield Package, the ‘Advanced Gloster’ is designed to delight and excite our new-age customer.”
It has been further noted that the supply chain issues are addressed with increased localisation to ensure production improvements and the 2022 MG Gloster is hoped to double up the volumes of the Toyota Fortuner rival. Other equipment highlights are a 31.2 cm touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
The updated Gloster also features a 12-speaker audio system with segment-first Shortpedia News App and Gaana song search via voice commands in addition to more than 75 connected car features. It can be had as a six- or a seven-seater in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive choices. It continues to use the 2.0-litre oil-burner in single turbo and twin-turbo guises.
The 2022 MG Gloster features an all-terrain system with 7 modes, a dual panoramic electric sunroof, a 12-way power adjustable driver seat, driver seat massage and ventilation feature, a wireless charging facility, etc. Sold in Super, Sharp and Savvy trims, it costs Rs. 36.87 lakh for 7-seater Sharp, Rs. 38.44 lakh for Savvy and Rs. 40.77 lakh for Savvy 4×4 AT (all prices, ex-showroom).
