Mahindra Scorpio N has a waiting period of up to 10 months; deliveries of the top-spec Z8L are prioritised
Mahindra & Mahindra introduced the long-awaited Scorpio N in the domestic market in late June 2022 and its bookings commenced on July 30, 2022 for an initial token of Rs. 21,000. The first batch of 25,000 units was sold out in just five minutes while the reservations crossed the one lakh mark in half an hour, worth Rs. 18,000 crore according to the brand.
The homegrown SUV manufacturer currently puts up with high waiting period for its recent launches such as the all-new XUV700 and the second-generation Thar. The deliveries of the Mahindra Scorpio N will begin from September 26 onwards and the first 7,000 bookings are aimed to be delivered within ten days. The first batch comprising 25,000 units and qualifying for the introductory prices will be completed eventually as well.
The customers who have reserved their Scorpio N can now track the vehicle status and the delivery dates are out as the waiting period has now been revealed. The first batch endures a waiting period of up to 10 months. The lower variants such as Z2, Z4 and Z6 command a waiting period of 10 months, 8 months and 6 months respectively.
The company is currently prioritising the deliveries of the top-spec Z8L as informed previously. The Scorpio N is based on a new ladder frame chassis and it comes with several advancements over the old model, which is also on sale with cosmetic updates and other tweaks as the Scorpio Classic. It can be had as either a six-seater or a seven-seater.
The Mahindra Scorpio N is priced between Rs. 11.99 lakh and Rs. 23.90 lakh (ex-showroom) and is sold across five variants namely Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8 and Z8L. It measures 4,662 mm in length, 1,917 mm in width and has a height of 1,870 mm as it has larger proportions than the Scorpio Classic.
As for the performance, 2.2-litre four-cylinder mHawk diesel and 2.0-litre four-cylinder mStallion turbo petrol engines are utilised. The transmission duties are performed by a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter auto with a 4WD system available in the top-end diesel trims.
