Before moving to Detroit, Alice Cooper’s unhinged act was featured anonymously in the 1970 film “Diary of a Mad Housewife.” Their third album, “Love It to Death” (1971), found an audience and spawned the hit “I’m Eighteen” under the direction of producer Bob Ezrin, who respected their music. The 1971 sequel, “Killer,” was also a hit. The title track from the 1972 album “School’s Out” was a Top Ten hit in the United States and topped the U.K. charts. “Billion Dollar Babies” (1973) and “No More Mr. Nice Guy” (1974) marked the band’s zenith.
