Frass Records published his debut studio album, “New Level Unlocked,” in 2016.

Early Life

On December 19, 1993, Earlan Bartley was born at Kingston’s Victoria Jubilee Hospital. After graduating from Ardenne High School, he pursued a degree in media and communication at the University of the West Indies. His love for music began while he was a senior in high school. After that, he began working with Notnice Records and UIM Records. A number of his tracks, including “123,” “High Suh,” “Bruk Out,” “Things Mi Love,” and “Live Life,” helped him become well-known in Jamaica. Nevertheless, “Move Mountains” was his most well-known track.

Career

Bartley successfully entered the global scene in the middle of 2015 with his smash singles “On Fleek (Love Yuh Everything)” and “Ride on Me (Remix),” featuring Sean Kingston, while he was diligently working on his debut album “New Level Unlocked.” On March 25, 2016, he became the first dancehall D.J. to have an album debut at number one on the charts in five years with the release of “New Level Unlocked.” It then topped the Billboard Reggae Charts, where it stayed for eighteen weeks.

He was nominated twice for a MOBO Award in 2016—this time for Best Reggae Act. His 2019 single “With the Thing” was featured on the Grand Theft Auto V soundtrack, “iFruit Radio,” in early December. On February 12, 2021, Bartley released his second studio album, “Top Prize.” On March 27, 2022, he headlined the third New Rules Festival at the Miramar Regional Amphitheater in Miami, Florida. Other performers that day included Wayne Wonder, Mavado, and Kranium. His music was featured in fashion designer Matthew M. Williams’ Givenchy Men’s Spring Summer 2023 RTW Show in Paris, France on June 22, 2022.
