Angela Rye Biography: Angela T. Rye, a prominent advocate-activist and political commentator, was born into an American of African descent in Seattle, Washington, on October 26, 1979. Her mother, Andrea Rye, is a former college administrator, whereas her father, Eddie Rye Jr., is an entrepreneur and community activist. Her tertiary education was at a Seattle all-girls secondary school prior to her enrollment at Washington University. She subsequently graduated from Seattle University School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree. Since his college years, Rye has been actively engaged in social activism. In 2004, he was elected as the Director of the Western Region for the National Black Law Students Association.

She commenced her political advocacy profession in 2005 upon commencing employment with the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education. She migrated to Washington in 2006 and co-founded the youth and young professional organization I.M.P.A.C.T. She was appointed Senior Advisor to the Committee on Homeland Security of the U.S. House of Representatives in 2007. She was appointed General Counsel and Executive Director of the Congressional Black Caucus in 2011. She assumed the executive leadership and role of principal at I.M.P.A.C.T. Strategies, a political advocacy organization, in 2013. She departed from I.M.P.A.C.T in 2017 to found the eponymous legal advocacy organization, Angela Rye Inc. In the subsequent year, she made recurring appearances on the widely recognized radio program known as “The Breakfast Club.” She assumed the role of a political commentator for C.N.N. in 2018 and was bestowed with an Honorary Doctorate by Wiley University in 2019. She began her podcast in 2020, where she addressed matters pertaining to ethnicity, culture, and politics. Following the termination of her exclusive agreement with C.N.N. in 2020, she made appearances on additional platforms, such as B.E.T and HuffPost Live. She began working as a special correspondent for E.S.P.N. in 2022, producing under the banner #BlackHistoryAlways.
