In the 1990s, Da Brat dated Andre 3000 and Allen Iverson. In an interview with Variety in 2020, Brat discussed her 25-year road to come out as a lesbian. Jesseca Dupart, an entrepreneur who develops hair products, was married in Georgia on February 22, 2022. They stated that they wanted to have their first child together in 2022. It would be the fourth child for Dupart and the first for Brat.

Legal and Arrest Problems of Da Brat

In 2000, Da Brat earned attention for beating a woman with a rum bottle in an Atlanta bar. The following year, she pled guilty and was sentenced to one year of probation and a $1,000 fine.

On October 31, 2007, she was arrested again, this time for viciously attacking a Studio 72 hostess during a Halloween party. The judge condemned Da Brat to three years in prison and seven years of probation.

She was temporarily freed from custody in May 2010 as part of a work-release programme. The official date of her release from prison was planned for 2011 when she completed her sentence.
