Davy Jones Biography: David Thomas Jones, better known by his stage name Davy Jones, was an English singer, actor, and businessman who was born on December 30, 1945. Jones gained notoriety as a co-star on the television series “The Monkees” and as a member of The Monkees.

In addition to playing rhythm guitar, bass, drums, and keyboard, Jones regularly performed on stage and in the studio using percussion instruments, including tambourines and maracas. Early Life

The father of Davy Jones was a railway fitter, and he was born in Manchester, England. His first play, Tom Sawyer, sparked Jones’s early interest in entertainment. After his mother passed away from emphysema in 1960, Jones stopped caring about education and moved out to pursue a career as a horse racing jockey. Jones’s apprentice jockey, Basil Foster, encouraged him to pursue acting after observing his talent in singing and acting.

Career

At the age of 20, Jones put out his debut album, simply named “David Jones.” In September 1966, the comedy sitcom “The Monkees” made its debut. Hundreds of people saw Jones every week, together with Peter Tork, Micky Dolenz, and Michael Nesmith. Even though it was well-liked by adolescent females, the program ended in 1968. After The Monkees broke up, Jones went solo and signed with Bell Records.

He embarked on two Japanese tours and put out multiple songs with Bell Records before to signing with MGM in 1973. He made appearances in “Love, American Style” and “The Brady Bunch” episodes. In the middle of the 1970s, Jones worked with former Monkee Dolenz and composers Bobby Hart and Tommy Boyce on an album and tour. Jones visited Japan regularly after joining Toast in the early 1980s. Three of the original Monkees—Jones, Dolenz, and Tork—reunited for the album “Pool It!” and a Christmas medley video after The Monkees made a comeback on MTV and Nickelodeon.

Personal Life

In December 1967, he wed Dixie Linda Haines, with whom he had been living. They maintained the privacy of their relationship until October 1968, when their first kid was born. The two daughters he had with Anita Pollinger, his second wife, were Jessica Lillian Jones and Annabel Charlotte Jones. They were married on January 24, 1981. In 1996, during the Monkees’ 30th anniversary reunion tour, the pair filed for divorce. 2009, he wed Jessica Pacheco. In April 2011, he and his spouse made an appearance on “Dr. Phil.” On July 28, 2011, Pacheco filed for divorce from Jones in Miami-Dade County, Florida; however, she backed out of the divorce in October. On February 29, 2012, he passed away in the early morning from arteriosclerosis-related heart failure.
