Carson James Wentz Biography: Born on December 30, 1992, Carson James Wentz plays quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles in the National Football League (N.F.L.). He began his collegiate football career as a member of the five-time Football Championship Subdivision (F.C.S.) champion North Dakota State Bison. Following his time playing collegiate football, he was named Academic All-American of the Year. In the first round of the NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles selected him with the second overall pick. Early Life

Carson Wentz was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, on December 30, 1992. Doug Wentz and Cathy Domres are his parents. His two brothers are Zach Wentz and Duke Domres.

Career

Wentz redshirted his first season as a member of the North Dakota State Bison football team in 2011 to start his college career. The team won their first F.C.S. title in that year. He was a redshirt freshman backup quarterback the next season. His first touchdown pass came in a win over the Prairie View A.&M. Panthers. Carson James Wentz  ended his redshirt sophomore season in 2013 as a backup quarterback, with his best game coming against Delaware State. Carson began playing quarterback for the Bison in 2014.

He made his debut against Illinois State in the national title game of that year. He sealed the win for his squad with a touchdown with just 37 seconds remaining in the contest. One of Wentz’s best games as a college athlete occurred in the October 2015 North Dakota State Bison game against Northern Iowa. He was carted off the field due to a wrist injury. Under his direction, the squad won its sixth F.C.S. championship in January 2016.

He was named the N.C.A.A. Division I-AA Championship Game Most Outstanding Player in recognition of his efforts. The College Sports Information Directors of America honored him the Academic All-American of the Year once for Division I Football and again for all Division I sports following his college career. In the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles selected Wentz as the second overall pick. He accepted a $26.67 million contract with a $17.6 million incentive to play for the team.

He was officially declared a starter in September 2016 and started his first game regularly against the Cleveland Browns. For his first week of playing professionally, he was named the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week. He was later selected as the N.F.C. Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Steelers. He was again selected the N.F.C. Offensive Player of the Week for the seventh week of the 2017 season, and he was a contender for the N.F.L. Most Valuable Player award. On June 6, 2019, the Philadelphia Eagles extended Wentz’s contract for another four years, ending in 2024. Of the $128 million contract, a guaranteed $107 million was signed.

Personal life

He announced their engagement on February 6, 2018, the day after the team’s victory in the Super Bowl, having been dating Madison Oberg for more than a year. On July 16, 2018, he wed her. Hadley Jaym, their daughter, was born in April 2020. They had Hudson Rose, their second daughter, in November 2021.
