Jon Moxley Biography: Ohio is the birthplace of Jon Moxley, also known as Jonathan David Good, who was born on December 7, 1985. He wrestles professionally for New Japan Pro-Wrestling (N.J.P.W.) and Elite Wrestling (A.E.W.). Along with being the I.W.G.P. United States Heavyweight Champion, he also holds the record for longest reign of holding that title.

In his teenage years, Moxley started working for Les Thatcher at the Heartland Wrestling Association (H.A.W.). Along with Jimmy Turner, he won the H.W.A. Tag Team Championship twice in 2005. He made three appearances on the World Wrestling Entertainment (W.W.E.) television programs “Heat” and “Velocity” in 2006 and 2007. After two defeats, he turned his attention to wrestling and in 2010 captured the CZW Heavyweight Championship.

His mother reared him because his father didn’t spend much time at home due to his distant work. He developed an early passion for wrestling and would spend hours watching wrestling videos on tape. While still in high school, Moxley started wrestling training; however, he eventually left to follow his passion.

In 2004, he started working as a professional wrestler for the H.W.A. He was defeated by Ala Hussein in his first fight, but the following year he won two Tag Team titles. He was crowned the H.W.A. Heavyweight Champion in 2006 and went on to win multiple other titles in addition to that title twice.

Moxley wrestled for Ring of Honor, International Wrestling Association, Dragon Gate U.S.A., Combat Zone Wrestling, and Full Impact Pro in addition to H.W.A. during his tenure. Jon Moxley won most of his fights and accumulated a few titles. He joined the W.W.E. in April 2011 and debuted successfully in July. He was able to establish himself and become one of the most bankable performers in the W.W.E. thanks to his winning streak.

Under the ring name “Dean Ambrose,” he signed with W.W.E., the biggest pro-wrestling promotion in the world, in 2011. He competed under their development brands, F.C.W. and N.X.T., until 2012. He then went on to win the United States Championships, which he held for the longest period of time in W.W.E. history—351 days.
