She subsequently studied at the Korea National University of Arts and earned a degree in music.
Her career in entertainment began in 2011 when YG Entertainment, a South Korean entertainment firm, selected her as an intern. She had cameo appearances in a Korean drama series and advertisements in 2015.
She entered the public in August 2016 when she debuted with Lisa, Rosé, and Jennie as a member of Blackpink. The publication of their debut album “Square One” in the same year made them an instant hit. Since then, they have become a major act in the Korean music industry and one of the world’s most successful female groups.
They have recorded two studio albums, three EPs, and a number of songs, including the worldwide smash smashes ‘Ddu-Du Ddu-Du,’ ‘Kiss and Make Up’ with American vocalist Dua Lipa, and ‘How You Like It.’
Between 2017 and 2018, Jisoo served as a talk show host. Her first acting role was a cameo in the tvN fantasy drama “The Arthdal Chronicles.” In 2021, she made her debut as a leading actress in the JTBC drama “Snowdrop.” She co-wrote the first single from Blackpink’s debut Korean-language album, “The Album,” titled “Lovesick Girls.”
Although it has been rumoured that Jisoo is in a relationship with Son Heung-min, an English Premier League soccer player, these rumours have not been substantiated. Little is known about Jisoo’s love life and personal life.
