Lakshmi Menon Biography: Lakshmi Menon is an Indian actress who primarily appears in Tamil films. She was born on 19 May 1996. After making her acting debut as a supporting character in the 2011 Malayalam film Raghuvinte Swantham Raziya, she portrayed the female lead in her 2012 Tamil debut film Kumki.
In 2013, she won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South. Her roles in Sundarapandian and Kumki earned her the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress.
Lakshmi Menon was born to Malayali parents Ramakrishnan, an artist living in Dubai, and Usha Menon, a dance instructor from Kochi.
In 2011, after seeing her perform Bharatanatyam on television, Malayalam director Vinayan cast her in his film Raghuvinte Swantham Raziya. She acted in the film while in the eighth grade. She then starred alongside Vineeth in another Malayalam film titled Ideal Couple, which was directed by Ali Akbar. Director Prabu Solomon cast her opposite actor Vikram Prabhu in the film Kumki. In response to her performance, director Prabhakaran offered her the lead role opposite M. Sasikumar in Sundarapandian, which was released prior to Kumki and marked her Tamil debut. After reuniting with Sasikumar in Kutti Puli, she appeared alongside Vishal in Suseenthiran’s action-drama film Pandianadu as the demure school teacher Malar.
In Naan Sigappu Manithan saw her coupling up with Vishal again. In 2014, she appeared in two Tamil films, Manja Pye alongside Vimal and Jigarthanda alongside Siddharth. She completed Sippai with Gautham Karthik, and by the time Komban was released, her portrayal as Palani Ammal had earned her a good reputation. On November 10, her film Vedalam was released, in which she portrayed Ajith Kumar’s sibling, and she was praised by critics for her performance in that film. In 2016, she starred alongside Jayam Ravi in the first Tamil undead film, Miruthan.
The upcoming film Pulikkuthi Pandi (2021) is Lakshmi Menon’s third collaboration with director M. Muthaah, and it will signal the actress’s return to the big screen after four years.
