83-year-old Patricia Kopta formerly resided in Pennsylvania and was a street preacher known as ‘The Sparrow’ Residents of her community gave her the moniker.

According to reports, Patricia has been diagnosed with dementia.

The police of Ross Township discovered Patricia in need of care in 1999, and she was taken to an adult care home.

Patricia initially refused to discuss her personal life with the staff at the adult care facility, but as her dementia worsened, she began to open up.

Bob Kopta was Patricia Kopta’s husband prior to her disappearance in March 2023. Patricia and Bob were childless after 40 years of marriage. According to multiple sources, she took several trips to Puerto Rico with her friends prior to her marriage.

In 1991 or 1992, her husband claimed in an article about her that she was attacked and robbed by a young woman who stole her jewellery.

The following year, Bob Kopta reported his wife as missing. She and her body have never been discovered, but as of today, she has been reported found. Since her disappearance, friends and family suspected she had been spotted or travelled to Puerto Rico, but no definitive leads on her whereabouts have emerged; however, that is no longer the case.

After 31 years, Brian Kohlhepp, deputy chief of police for Ross Township, received information from an Interpol agent and a social worker in Puerto Rico. The contacts believed they had found Kopta alive in a facility located 1,700 miles (2,740 metres) away.

The Ross Municipality police department guaranteed that Patricia Kopta would not reveal her own existence to anyone. When she arrived in Puerto Rico, she claimed to have travelled from Europe via ship. Agents have not found any traces of her in Europe.

The 83-year-old Patricia Kopta has been reunited with her family. Despite the fact that she has dementia, they continue to attempt to visit her 31 years later.
