Pee Wee Biography: Born on December 8, 1988, Irvin Salinas, better known by his stage name Pee Wee, is a well-known figure in the Latin music industry. After departing from the Kumbia Kings, he joined the Kumbia All Starz, a band that he helped elevate and record his early successes with. He helped elevate the Kumbia All-Starz, but in the end, he had to go. Despite this, Salina’s career and early notoriety can be largely ascribed to his talent and to A.B. Quintanilla, who he later fell out of favor with but who was also a cofounder of the Kumbia Kings and the Kumbia All Starz.

Early Life

Pee Wee is a World Music singer and actor who was born Irvin Salinas on December 8, 1988, in Othello, Washington. He is known for songs like “Cumbaya” and the album “Yo Soy.” He moved to La Joya, Texas, with his mother Maria Martínez after his parents divorced, leaving him living in Othello with his two elder siblings, Simon and Elizabeth. There, he worked odd jobs like dishwashing and car washing to supplement his family’s income.

Career

According to reports, he first met A.B. Quintanilla, his potential assistant, either at a school function or while washing cars. When Salinas was fifteen, he ran into Quintanilla, who asked him to try out for a part in his band’s next music video. In 2003, he became a member of Quintanilla’s band, Kumbia Kings, and they recorded their first song, “Sabes a Chocolate.”

The crowd applauded this song. Due to the popularity of the song, Quintanilla gave Salinas the moniker “Pee Wee” because he was the newest member of the Kumbia Kings. Salinas gained more followers in 2004 after releasing “Na Na Na (Dulce Niña).”

After a falling out with Quintanilla, Salinas went on to become the lead singer of Quintanilla’s Kumbia All-Starz band, with whom he recorded an album and a number of singles before deciding to go solo in 2008. He made his solo debut the same year with “Life Is A Dance Floor.” In 2008, he made his television debut as a host of the MTV Tr3s series “Bust a Ritmo.” In addition, he participated in the reality shows “El Show de Los Sueños” and “Los Reyes del Show,” where he and his teammates, Santiago Galindo and Ruben, won.

They each received a million dollars in prize money equally. In the July 2009 premiere of the Mexican telenovela “Cameleones,” Salinas played Ulises Morán. August 2009 saw the release of his first studio album, “Yo Soy.” He changed his name to “P.W.” two years later, claiming it was an evolution of Pee Wee. With his incredible dance moves in the music video for his 2011 debut single as P.W., “Wanna Be Yours,” the singer demonstrated to fans how much he had changed.
