Established in 1991, “His Infernal Majesty” (H.I.M.) was the name of the band Vale, and Mikkio “Mige” Paananen’s national military service caused the dissolution of the group two years later. 1995 saw the reformation of the band by Valo and Mikko “Linde” Lindstrom. As the group’s lineup changed over the years, H.I.M. released a number of albums, including “Razorblade Romance,” “Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights,” “Love Metal,” “Dark Light,” “Venus Doom,” “Tears on Tape,” and “Screamworks: Love in Theory and Practice.” Following a temporary hiatus, the band released their final studio album, “Tear on Tape,” in 2013. They disbanded following a farewell tour, believing they had “nothing left to give collectively” while working on a follow-up.

Amidst expectations, Valo debuted as V.V. in 2020 with an E.P. titled “Gothica Fennica Vol. 1.” Additionally, in 2022, he issued “Loveletting,” the lead single from his forthcoming album “Neon Noir.” In addition, Valo has appeared in several films and television programs, such as “Viva La Bam,” “Asphalt,” and the Finnish adaptation of “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.”
