He is a Pisces of South Korean descent, and he developed an early interest in music.
In August 2014, Wonho was a member of the boy band Nu Boyz alongside three other artists. The group was formed by Starship Entertainment and debuted at Starship X’s opening concert in December of the same year. Starship, in collaboration with Mnet, launched a competition titled ‘No Mercy’ in which Wonho participated. Along with six others, he was selected in the show’s final episode to join the new hip-hop boy group, ‘Monsta X,’ and in May 2015, the group released their debut extended play, ‘Trespass.’
In 2017, in addition to being a vocalist, Wonho assumed the role of songwriter for this group. He left Monsta X in 2019 and was signed to Highline Entertainment in April 2020 as a solo artist. In September 2020, Wonho released his debut solo album, Love Synonym #1: Right for Me. A few weeks later, he performed his first online solo concert. Wonho released the second part of his EP titled “Love Synonym #2: Right for Us” on February 26, 2021. This EP debuted with multiple tracks on Billboard’s “World Digital Song Sales” chart. Wonho has released a new EP and numerous singles. His discography is impressive, and he shares his success with his family, even though he is currently unmarried.
