  • Candidates must arrive in the exam hall five minutes before the start time.
  • A candidate who arrives late must provide a satisfactory explanation. Except in exceptional circumstances, no candidate who is more than half an hour late will be given a paper.
  • Candidates are not permitted to leave the exam hall before the paper is completed.
  • If an exam paper for which the candidate is not registered is handed out, or if the questions indicate that a map or other stationery should have been provided, candidates must immediately bring it to the attention of the supervising examiner.
  • Candidates must carefully read any general instructions provided at the beginning of a paper.
  • Candidates should only answer the number of questions specified in the question paper.
  • Candidates must sign their names on the top sheet of the main answer booklet.
  • On the top sheet of the main answer booklet, clearly write the Unique Identification Number (UID), index number, and subject. This information should also appear on the front page of each continuation booklet used. Write the information on loose maps or graph paper if candidates are using them.
  • All entries in the answer booklet must be written in black or blue ballpoint pen or fountain pen.
  • Unless the question paper’s rubric prohibits it, candidates must write on both sides of each sheet of the answer booklet. While writing, leave a margin on both the right and left sides. On a separate line, begin answering each part of a question.
  • Candidates must clearly write the question number in the left-hand margin at the beginning of each answer. Make sure to follow the same numbering system as the question paper. After answering each question, leave a line.
  • Pencils can only be used for diagrams. Candidates must bring mathematical, drawing, and colour pencils for the subjects for which they will be required.
  • It is not permitted to use any electronic devices, hand, desk, or other types of calculating machines.
  • In addition to the time allotted for writing the paper, 15 minutes are allotted for reading the questions.
  • When the time for writing the examination has passed, arrange the answer scripts in chronological order. Check that the correct UID, index number, and subject paper are written on the main answer booklet, continuation booklet, graph, and map. Candidates must join them at the top left corner and hand them over unfolded.
