From January to July 2023, India Today’s partner, Marketing and Development Research Associates (MDRA), conducted a complex survey evaluating over 120 performance indicators. These key metrics were intelligently categorized into five vital parameters: ‘Reputation & Governance,’ ‘Academic and Research Excellence,’ ‘Infrastructure and Living Experience,’ ‘Personality and Leadership Development,’ and ‘Career Progression and Placement.’

AMU excelled in a competitive environment comprised of more than 750 qualifying institutions. In the category of General (Government) Universities, the institution’s dedication to quality education, research, and holistic development resulted in an impressive aggregate score of 1718.8 out of 2000. This outstanding performance placed AMU in third place, behind JNU and Delhi University.
