AMU VC unveiled G20 garden in the campus, plants sourced from member countries

Since the park features flag signs and plants of the G20 countries and the European Union, he continued, this would be a sort of 'Knowledge Park' for the pupils.

AMU VC unveiled G20 garden: The Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Prof. Mohammad Gulrez, dedicated a magnificent G20 Garden at Tar Bungalow on the AMU Campus to honour India’s illustrious G20 Summit Presidency. The garden was painstakingly created by the Department of Land and Garden. The garden serves as an example of sustainable development and strengthens India’s international commitment to a more environmentally friendly future.

Prof. Gulrez commended the Land and Garden team for their excellent work in establishing the garden, which harmonies with Mission LiFE’s pro-planet advocacy and the G20’s motto of “One Earth, One Family, One Future.” Since the park features flag signs and plants of the G20 countries and the European Union, he continued, this would be a sort of “Knowledge Park” for the pupils.

“The G20 Garden serves as a platform where recreation, nature appreciation, and education on important global themes will converge,” stated Omar S. Peerzada, public relations officer at AMU. In order to jointly work towards a sustainable and equitable future, Prof. Gulrez described it as a potent global cry for solidarity among governments, nongovernmental organisations, for-profit corporations, the academic community, civil society, and individuals.

Prof. Zaki A Siddiqui, the committee member in charge of Land and Garden, said that a diverse collection of plants had been obtained from 20 different nations. Among the notable varieties are the Peltophorum Pterocarpum (Yellow Flame Tree) from Argentina, the Ceiba Speciosa (Silk Floss Tree) from Brazil, the Terminalia bellerica (Bahera) from China, the Citrus X limon (Lemon) from Germany, the Tectona grandis (Teak) from Indonesia, the Juniperus Sp. (Common Juniper) from Japan, the Pinus Rox.
