Bains took to Twitter on Wednesday to announce the closure of schools in the state: “As per the instructions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Maan ji, and keeping in mind the floods caused by heavy rains in various districts of Punjab including Himachal Pradesh, the Punjab Government has ordered with immediate effect the closure of all government/aided/recognised and private schools of the state for safety reasons. “From today (August 23, 2023) through Saturday, August 26, 2023, there will be an immediate holiday.”
