While the regular school from Class 9 to 12 will start from January 18, medical college, paramedical college and nursing college will start from January 11.
As the number of Covid patients continued to take a downward shift, the Rajasthan government has announced to open the schools, colleges and coaching centres in the state from January 18.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot made this announcement on Tuesday late night and said the students from the medical institutes would be connected with the corona vaccination process and, hence their classes are being started soon.
Addressing a review meeting here, the CM said, “The recovery rate in the state has touched the figure of 96.3 per cent, and in many districts zero cases are being reported, while in remaining ones the situation is improving. Hence, we have issued directions to start schools from January 18 and medical colleges from January 11,” he said.
A total of 50 per cent of attendance will be marked on the first day while the remaining half will attend the Class on the next day. The teachers will be trained by the health officials to avoid contacting the virus and check infection. All health protocols, including wearing the masks and social distancing will be followed in all institutions, he added.
Secretary, Medical and Health, Siddharth Mahajan said the total number of active Covid cases reported on November 28 was 28,758 which had fallen to 8,189 on January 4 this year.
Meanwhile, the CM also asked officials to remain extra cautious for the mutant UK strain. “England has to announce another lockdown. Taking a lesson from it, we need to be extra alert,” he said.
The CM also directed state officials to send significant suggestions on this issue to the Central government.
