Autumn Semester Diploma Presentation and Commencement Ceremony: On September 22, 2023, the University of Tokyo held its Autumn Semester diploma presentation and graduation ceremony in Yasuda Auditorium.
The University of Tokyo Orchestra performed to kick off the celebration at ten o’clock in the morning. Then, in their academic regalia, President Fujii Teruo, the executive vice presidents, deans of the graduate schools and faculties, and directors of the university institutes ascended to the platform.

President Fujii addressed the audience after giving diplomas to the students who represented the graduating classes of each Graduate School and the College of Arts and Sciences. The ceremony was then concluded by speeches from the students who represented the entire graduating class (Mr. Tsubouchi Shuntaro, a doctoral student from the Graduate School of Mathematical Sciences, and Mr. Christopher Paul Clayton from the College of Arts and Sciences).
Many graduates and their families who were unable to attend the event were able to watch a webcast of it, as well as members of the general public.
