Regarding the Irreverent

The Australian drama series “Irreverent” is about a priest named Boyd who is essentially a criminal named Paulo. After a failed robbery that resulted in the death of a gang member, he is on the run from enraged individuals. Paulo attempts to adapt to small-town life in a remote town in Far North Queensland, Australia, and find common ground with the eccentric locals. However, his past may come back to haunt him, resulting in hazardous consequences.

Colin Donnell, renowned for his role on Chicago Med, portrayed Paulo/Reverend Boyd in the film. In addition to P. J. Byrne, who starred in The Wolf of Wall Street, the cast also includes Wayne Blair, the director of The Sapphires, as Peter, Russell Dykstra from Rake as Lester, and Robert Rabiah from Face to Face as Farah. Agnes is portrayed by Wentworth alumna Susie Porter, marking her second collaboration with writer Andrew Anastasios, following Irreverent.

The American premiere of “Irreverent” occurs in the United States. Paulo, the primary character, is a criminal mediator. However, he unintentionally kills a well-known gang member and is compelled to go into hiding. The family and associates of the gang member find out and plot to kill Paulo as soon as he reappears. Paulo was required to flee the country, so he chose to hide in a small town called Clump in Australia’s Far North Queensland. He is now known as Reverend Boyd. Once he arrives in the town, he realises how different the culture is from what he is accustomed to, resulting in humorous circumstances.
