What happened to mercenaries Baylan Skoll (the late Ray Stevenson) and his protégé Shin Hati (Ivanna Sakhno), who were also stranded on Peridea, remains a mystery. Even though Shin was depicted joining a gang of thieves, the greater power that Baylan sensed and sought on the planet has not yet been made explicit.

Baylan’s final appearance suggests that the power is related to the Mortis Gods, ancient deities also known as the Ones. The Father statue represented the balance of the Force, while the Son and Daughter statues represented the dark side and the light side of the Force, respectively.

As a result of Stevenson’s untimely death weeks prior to Ahsoka’s debut, Baylan’s narrative may have to be developed differently than originally intended.

What Happens Next in Ahsoka’s Story

Lucasfilm has not yet issued a statement on Ahsoka’s potential return for a second season. Showrunner Dave Filoni, who supervised The Clone Wars, Rebels, and other animated Star Wars series, is currently developing a new Star Wars film rumored to center on Ahsoka and The Mandalorian.

When asked if the film will be the “climax” of the interconnected storylines of those shows, Filoni stated only that it will focus on a significant turning point for the galaxy; the narrative arc presently appears to revolve around the battle to defeat Thrawn.
