Brian Holland established the Brian Holland Legacy Foundation, an organization dedicated to aiding in the promotion of community development, L.G.B.T.Q.+ equality and support, and arts and education—three broad spheres of social influence. Holland was an ardent advocate for the welfare of the L.G.B.T.Q.+ community and a proud homosexual man. Moreover, Holland possessed an inherent ability to discern the utmost and genuine potential of individuals due to his occupation as an educator.
As longstanding residents of Monmouth County, Holland and his family devoted a substantial amount of time and energy to the betterment of Asbury Park. Friends claim he was the epitome of altruism, devoting his time, energy, and financial resources to charitable endeavors throughout the state of New Jersey. He was a dearly cherished individual.
Additionally, he advocated for those whose voices were not sufficiently audible to penetrate the platforms where they could truly effect change. Holland advocated for those who were unable to express themselves in interviews, events, meetings, and discussions. He compelled those in his vicinity to recognize that the world we inhabit is not a simple compilation of “this or that” moments, but rather a resplendent assortment of vivid instances that demand our collective attention and slowing down to appreciate. The Brian Holland Legacy Day, which has been observed annually since 2019, honors the foundation and this extraordinary individual by shedding light on its continuous efforts.
