She has been honored with the dedication of numerous churches in Brazil, with the Cathedral of Brasilia and the National Basilica being the most prominent. Its capacity exceeds 45,000 individuals, making it the second-largest basilica in the globe.
Pope Pius XI bestowed the title of “Our Lady of Aparecida” patron saint upon Brazil in 1929. Brazil has observed the feast day of Our Lady of Aparecida as a national holiday since 1980.
