In an interview with Sustainable Style Foundation, Daryl Hannah revealed that she fuels her 1983 Chevrolet El Camino with biodiesel.
This March 18, celebrating National Biodiesel Day with your friends, family, and coworkers will make you appear intelligent, eco-friendly, and resourceful. Without a doubt, they will be astonished by your knowledge of crazy gas (and to be clear, we’re referring to the gas that will help you make friends, not scare them away). So, let’s start it biodiesel style!
In an interview with Sustainable Style Foundation, Daryl Hannah revealed that she fuels her 1983 Chevrolet El Camino with biodiesel. She explained, “It frees us from our dependence on fossil fuels and foreign oil so we don’t have to go to war for oil.” In short, produce biodiesel, not war.
Biodiesel is used to power trucks, tractors, boats, shipping equipment, irrigation systems, mining equipment, electrical generators, diesel-powered automobiles, and all other diesel-powered vehicles and systems. We rely on biodiesel fuel more than we realize, so why not dedicate March 18 to expressing gratitude?
Rudolf Diesel was a mechanical engineer and inventor who devised the diesel engine. Likewise, he vanished in 1913 and was discovered deceased under mysterious circumstances. There is no greater time to honor the man whose invention paved the way for engines that power agricultural machines, submarines, ships, and, much later, locomotives, trucks, and a great number of contemporary automobiles.
Global Recycling Day 2023: Date, History, Facts about Recycling
In this documentary, environmental activist and filmmaker Josh Tickell investigates alternative energy sources, particularly biofuels, as a means for the United States to end its reliance on foreign oil. If you’re more interested in “star-studded” films, you should know that Larry Hagman, Richard Branson, Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, and Woody Harrelson all appear!
This 1942 German biographical film recreates the life of Rudolf Diesel in dramatic fashion. If you do not understand German, activate the subtitles.
It is possible to recycle the used vegetable oil used to create French fries and other delicious fried foods into eco-friendly biodiesel. While you shouldn’t attempt this at home, eating fries to honor the fuel that powers the globe is a tasty option.
