Reclaim Social Day 2024: Date, Activities and Facts

Reclaim Social Day, a global campaign promoting kindness on social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram, highlights the positive aspects of these platforms in the face of increasing hostility.

Reclaim Social Day 2024: Every year on February 6, there is a global campaign called Reclaim Social Day. The day offers an opportunity to highlight social media’s positive features in light of the increasing hostility on the platform. For instance, Twitter is frequently used to boost rescue efforts and disseminate news and information during emergencies. It also enables interactions and help-giving between strangers.

Lightful, a tech-for-good start-up, kicked off the day with a one-day online campaign to promote kindness on social media to recapture platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, which they allege are now populated by trolls, hateful people, and fake news. Let’s expose the public to a few of our most cherished and advantageous applications of social media!

Just share your story with us, and you can make a difference without becoming a celebrity or influencer. You participate in Reclaim Social Day, which attempts to highlight the advantages of social media.

Reclaim Social Day History

A nonprofit technology company located in London, Lightful, launched the hashtag #ReclaimSocial on February 6, 2018, hoping to spark a global upsurge in positivity on social media that day. As part of the campaign, hundreds of charities replied by posting their motivational stories on social media.

The message was unmistakable: it’s time to take back these platforms. The goal was to expand the group of individuals dedicated to altering the way that social media is viewed and utilized. Lightful has since integrated the idea of reclaiming social rights into the core of its mission.
