Many individuals have been motivated by her example to remain vigilant for nearby fauna that may require assistance.
World Lewis Day 2023: On November 26, individuals are encouraged to donate to charitable organizations that are attempting to assist the hundreds of koalas that have perished or been displaced as a result of the recent bushfires in Australia. World Lewis Day is observed to bring attention to this issue.
Donate to the Koala Foundation of Australia
A non-governmental and non-profit organization, the AKF is committed to the effective administration and conservation of the koala and its habitat. Explore their website in order to ascertain potential ways in which you can contribute to effecting change.
Establish Trees
For an additional food source, consider planting eucalyptus in your yard if you reside in an area frequented by koalas. Recent fires in Australia destroyed not only the habitats of hundreds of koalas but also the leaves that are vital to their survival. By planting eucalyptus trees, you provide a fighting chance for the local koalas.
Participating Volunteer
Further displacement of hundreds of koalas has resulted from the recent conflagration in Australia. Volunteer to assist in locating the furry marsupials and transporting them to the nearest koala hospital if you reside in Australia.
It enhances consciousness.
Hardly anyone outside of Australia was cognizant of the catastrophic bushfires that were threatening not only koalas but also other forms of fauna and humans prior to the video’s viral status. Thousands are racing to donate to the families and koalas whose homes have been destroyed as a result of the catastrophic event, thanks to Lewis.
It actively promotes volunteerism.
Residents of the vicinity of the recent fire zone in Australia are racing to volunteer. Lewis’s heroic rescue and subsequent struggle in the hospital revealed the perilous circumstances that beset the hundreds of other koalas requiring assistance.
A magnificent display of bravery is duly recognized.
Toni Doherty, the grandmother from Australia who was captured in the viral video, rescued Lewis, who had scaled a tree to flee the flames, by removing the shirt from her back. Toni exposed herself to peril and assumed personal risk to ensure the survival of a diminutive organism. Her example has inspired many people to be on the lookout for nearby wildlife that might need assistance.
