World Usability Day 2023: World Usability Day, also known as Make Things Easier Day, is observed annually on the second Thursday of November. The Usability Professionals Association established it in 2005. The event occurs this year on November 9. A novel topic is selected annually for the discussion. World Usability Day 2023: History

In November 2005, the User Experience Professional Association instituted World Usability Day. Since its inception in 1991 with 50 members, the organization has expanded to assist nearly 2,400 professionals worldwide in their efforts to advance user experience (UX) principles and methodologies via 59 local chapters in 30 countries, the “Journal of Usability Studies” (JUS), and “User Experience Magazine,” in addition to annual international conferences.

The origins of user experience principles can be traced back to ancient Greece. In as early as the 5th century B.C., Greek civilizations constructed their instruments and workstations in accordance with ergonomic principles, according to available evidence. Henry Dreyfuss, an American industrial engineer, is another significant character in the history of user experience design. His 1955 publication “Designing for People” essentially defines user experience design.

Individuals other than engineers have made significant contributions to the evolution of user experience. Walt Disney was recognized in 1966 as one of the pioneering user experience designers. With an unwavering commitment to crafting enchanting, all-encompassing, and nearly flawless user experiences, Disney envisioned an environment where state-of-the-art technologies could be utilized to better the lives of others. Apple, whose products have included the iPhone (2007) and the original iPod (2001), has been a genuine innovator in user experience. The IT industry titan even produced the term “user experience design.”
