The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board has decided to set a daily cap of 10,000 pilgrims per route, excluding yatris who would travel by helicopter. The board has also decided to expand the free battery car service for pilgrims along the 2.75-kilometer stretch between Baltal and Domel.
According to shrine authorities, the 43-day yatra (pilgrimage) will end on August 11.
After a two-year gap because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the pilgrimage to the Himalayan shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir will resume on June 30.

How to prepare for Amarnath Yatra?

1. Prepare yourself for the Yatra by becoming physically fit. It is advised that you start doing a morning or evening walk at least a month before the Yatra.2. Improve the oxygen efficiency of the body by starting deep breathing exercises and Yoga, especially pranayam.3. Consume about 5 liters of fluid a day to combat dehydration and headaches.4. You should immediately contact the nearest medical facility if you experience any symptoms of High Altitude Sickness or discomfort.
