Pocky Day 2023: History

Pocky consists of chocolate-coated breadsticks that are packaged in cartons. The food company Ezaki Glico invented the confection in 1963. Despite its instantaneous popularity, consuming it resulted in a sloppy experience, as rivers of chocolate frequently cascaded down the fingertips. Therefore, in order to regain their customers’ trust, Glico returned to the drafting board and devised a number of alternatives for their popular confection. The organization spontaneously conceived the brilliant notion of omitting the chocolate coating from a segment of the confection while retaining its handle. That one decision gave rise to the worldwide sensation known as Rocky. Nevertheless, Rocky’s name was changed to Pocky, the beloved one, in 2014.

There are numerous unique varieties of Pocky, including honey and kiwifruit mango. A sophisticated, bittersweet variation of the milk chocolate Pocky, the Men’s Pocky.
