Barbie’s Malibu Dreamhouse is on Airbnb

This summer, we are all living in a Barbie universe, and fortunate fans will be able to spend the night in the iconic doll’s dream house. To coincide with the release of the live-action film starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as the plastic power couple on July 21, Airbnb is opening a very limited number of spaces at the Barbie Malibu DreamHouse.

The three-story pink home has a roller rink, a slide, and a pool with the letters “KEN” floating in the water, as first observed by a CBS Los Angeles photojournalist from the air on Sunday. Monday, Airbnb verified the listing in a statement.

In contrast to the last time the privately owned home was advertised on the website in 2019, Ken is the “host” and guests stay in his Western-themed bedroom, which includes an oversized horse, fringed shirts in the wardrobe, and a wall covered in cowboy caps. The photographs depict a “Kingdom Saloon,” disco dance floor, roller rink, and exercise apparatus.

There is no assurance that Ken will be present; he may be rollerblading the entire time. According to the listing, however, a concierge will transport visitors and prepare meals. Consistent with the tone of the movie’s trailers, Airbnb relishes ridicul ing the man.

The proclamation reads, “All stays are complimentary because Ken couldn’t figure out how to price Barbie’s Malibu DreamHouse; after all, Ken’s forte is the beach, not mathematics!” Previously, a two-night stay for the 60th anniversary of the brand cost $60.

On the 21st and 22nd of July, only two one-night stays for a maximum of two people will be permitted when the property becomes available for reservations on July 17. Visitors must reserve and purchase tickets for the Barbie Dreamplane and other modes of transportation. Although it is apparent from the listing that this is not a contest, it is unclear how Airbnb will determine who will stay in Ken’s apartment.
