At approximately 3 a.m., a gunshot occurred at the Palmetto at Lakeside apartments on Rio Grande Avenue off Holden Avenue.

Fatal Shooting Claims Life of 34-Year-Old Man in Orange County

The victim, identified as Jamel Tyrone Brown, was discovered by responding deputies suffering from a gunshot wound. He was declared deceased at the site. Investigators believe Brown was shot multiple times, but the motive remains unknown.

Police are requesting that anyone with information about the shooting come forward. A reward is offered for information leading to the shooter’s apprehension.

What the Family of the Victim Said

The family of the victim has issued a statement requesting public assistance in locating the perpetrator. They stated that Brown was a kind and compassionate individual who did not deserve to die in this manner.

What Witnesses Reported

“I heard a loud noise that sounded like a gunshot,” said a resident of the apartment complex. “As I glanced out the window, I noticed a man lying on the ground. He was immobile.”

Another witness reported seeing a man fleeing the site of the shooting. According to her, the individual was dressed in a dark hoodie and jeans.

The incident has shook the apartment complex’s community. Numerous residents are fearful for their protection and ponder whether the shooter will strike again.
