Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 16: Dakshina Kannada on Saturday July 16, reported 19 new coronavirus cases while five cases were registered in Udupi.
The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,017 out of which 54 are currently active. As many as seven patients were discharged on July 16.
No deaths were reported on July 16. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,852.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.
Positivity rate for the day stood at 1.71 percent.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
Five coronavirus cases were reported on July 14. The total active Covid cases are 25.
A total of 10,89,184 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,79,660 have received both doses and 1,27,998 people have received booster doses.
Udupi taluk reported three cases, Karkala and Kundapur added one case each.
