Kathy sMothered Illness: The fifth season of the popular TLC reality show Mothered came out in December 2023. It showed all the usual codependent beauty between parents and their children. The topic of this show is interesting, even if you don’t watch it.

It means that a parent, usually the mother, is too involved with their child’s life. To put it another way, they are smothering them. No, this is not true. The grown children are just as active in their parents’ lives as the parents are. It’s too crowded going both ways.

Kathy is from Chicago, and she and her daughter Cristina live in a five-house area together. Because they are so close, people often wonder what’s wrong when they are apart. In the first episode of Season 5, we learn that Kathy plans to have what she calls a “living funeral” for her 65th birthday at a funeral home.

Joseph was a huge sports fan who showed how much he loved the game. He had four TVs in his living room and a cutting edge machine called a Sportscaster that sent scores straight to his house. Croccifixio “Cross” Caramia and Ciamarie Bertolli were Joseph’s grandchildren. He also had three children: Cristina, Carly Crispino, and Paul Vossel. Joseph died on September 3, 2019.
