Kathy sMothered Illness: Who Was Kathy’s Husband?

It means that a parent, usually the mother, is too involved with their child's life. To put it another way, they are smothering them.

Kathy sMothered Illness: The fifth season of the popular TLC reality show Mothered came out in December 2023. It showed all the usual codependent beauty between parents and their children. The topic of this show is interesting, even if you don’t watch it.

It means that a parent, usually the mother, is too involved with their child’s life. To put it another way, they are smothering them. No, this is not true. The grown children are just as active in their parents’ lives as the parents are. It’s too crowded going both ways.

Kathy is from Chicago, and she and her daughter Cristina live in a five-house area together. Because they are so close, people often wonder what’s wrong when they are apart. In the first episode of Season 5, we learn that Kathy plans to have what she calls a “living funeral” for her 65th birthday at a funeral home.

Everything is fine most of the time. Cristina doesn’t like this idea at all and thinks there might be more to the story. Does Kathy cover up a sickness of some kind?

It’s not clear how Kathy’s health is. There isn’t enough information to say for sure if she is sick or not. We don’t have enough knowledge and proof to say for sure if Kathy is having any health issues.

Fans have thought that Kathy might have cancer or another major disease based on her live funeral plan and her visit with her doctor. Some people think Kathy might be sad or nervous, or they think she’s just trying to get the attention of her daughter and son-in-law.

Kathy hasn’t told the public or her family what kind of illness she has, if any, so we can only hope that she is healthy and getting the care and help she needs.

Does Kathy From ‘sMothered’ Have a Secret Illness?

Each member of the Crispino/Bertolli family has a birthday in Season 5, Episode 1. The seventh birthday party for Cristina’s daughter is going on right now, and Kathy is getting ready for her 65th birthday. She thought about having her party at a roller rink at one point, but Kathy felt something more evil when she talked to her.

Both Kathy and Cristina love planning parties together. “We probably plan between 10 and 15 parties a year,” Cristina says in the first scene of Season 5. Cristina talked about planning the kind of party she wants to have for her mother after she dies, which makes sense.

Her friend Kathy was told that they were going to use a different color to arrange the funeral home for each holiday. No idea why, but Kathy decides to have a “living funeral birthday party” because she doesn’t have enough work to do.

At first, Cristina doesn’t like the idea, even though she brought up Kathy’s funeral first. Kathy tells her to “pop out of a coffin,” but she doesn’t find that funny.

It sounds like a great time at this party. Because Cristina was so sure of this, she couldn’t help but notice that her mother was acting oddly at the birthday party for her daughter. Kathy keeps falling asleep, which is not like her at all. Cristina says to her sister, “I’ve never seen her pass out during a party.” Is Kathy sick with a cold?

Why hasn’t Kathy told her kids about the news yet?

Kathy wants to have this live funeral birthday party for more than one reason. One reason is that she wants to go to her funeral. She also thinks that her genes are against her. To make her feel better, Cristina tells her that both her grandmother and mother died when they were 68 years old.

Cristina is very upset about the news, which sounds more like bad news for the family than a good idea. Kathy still hasn’t told her kids anything else, which is some bad news. “A few weeks ago, I got some news from my doctor,” she says. Kathy is telling the truth.

“The news is bad. You already know that you want to get to this point in the game. Kathy says she has to “deal with” something that no one wants to deal with. Things are getting worse for Kathy because she can’t tell her kids what’s going on. The people reading this are also in the dark right now.

Who did Kathy marry?

Kathy got married to Joseph Michael Crispino. Joseph passed away in 2019, ending their happy married life. Michael ran his own business, and Kathy did what she needed to do as a mother and housewife. The two went on the Oprah Winfrey show twice, once in 1990 and again in 1993.

Joseph was a huge sports fan who showed how much he loved the game. He had four TVs in his living room and a cutting edge machine called a Sportscaster that sent scores straight to his house. In “Has This Husband Gone Too Far as a Football Fan?” Kathy called her husband’s sports obsession “ridiculous” in a funny way on the Oprah show.

Croccifixio “Cross” Caramia and Ciamarie Bertolli were Joseph’s grandchildren. He also had three children: Cristina, Carly Crispino, and Paul Vossel. Joseph died on September 3, 2019.
