Lyricist Dev Kohli Cause of Death: Saturday, at the age of 80, veteran lyricist and poet Dev Kohli passed away from a protracted illness. According to a report by the news agency ANI, Kohli had been admitted to Kokilaben Ambani Hospital for the past few months due to his poor health. Today, he died peacefully in his slumber.

Pritam Sharma, a spokesperson for Kohli, verified the lyricist passed away at his residence early this morning. Sharma stated that he had been hospitalised at the Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai for approximately ten days before being returned home.

Kohli’s compositions have appeared in over 100 films, such as ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya,’ ‘Baazigar,’ ‘Judwaa 2,’ ‘Musafir,’ ‘Shoot Out At Lokhandwala,’ and ‘Taxi No. 9211.’ He has worked with numerous music directors, including Anu Malik, Raam Laxman, Anand Raaj Anand, and Anand Milind.

Today at 6 pm, Kohli’s final ceremonies will be performed in Jogeshwari West.

Anand Raaj Anand, Anu Malik, and Uttam Singh, along with Bollywood luminaries, will attend his funeral.

Dev Kohli was born in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, on November 2, 1942. His early years were spent in Dehradun before he relocated to Delhi in 1949.

After arriving in Mumbai in 1964, Kohli sought film employment. With the release of the film Gunda in 1969, he made his début in Bollywood. The song “Geet Gaata Hoon Main” from the 1971 film “Laal Patthar” was his major break.

He composed the lyrics for hit tunes such as “Aate Jaate Hanste Gaate,” “Kabootar Ja Ja Ja,” “Aaja Shaam Hone Aayee,” and “Maine Pyar Kiya.”In the 1990s, he and Anu Malik collaborated on compositions such as ‘Dekho Dekho Jaanam Hum’ from ‘Ishq’ and ‘Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhen’ from ‘Baazigar.’
