Jordan Peterson Illness: What Happened To His Heath??

Update on Richard Painter’s Health And Illness

Richard was diagnosed with herpes zoster and type 2 Ramsay Hunt syndrome in July 2015, which predominantly caused the right side of his face to become paralysed. The virus responsible for zoster causes a painful rash with small lesions.

Typically, the rash appears as a solitary, broad mark on the left or right side of the face or body. Similar to Ramsay Hunt Syndrome Type 1, Ramsay Hunt Syndrome Type 2 can be identified by clinical symptoms; however, in cases of uncertainty, PCR or direct immunofluorescent testing of vesicular fluid can assist in the diagnosis.

In addition, laboratory tests, such as WBC count, ESR, and electrolytes, can differentiate between infectious and inflammatory causes.
