Rodney Hayes Motorcycle Accident Investigation:  According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, a Saturday morning automobile accident involving two vehicles resulted in one fatality. Rodney P. Hayes, 48, of Niskayuna, died from injuries sustained in the collision.

The tragedy, according to the police, occurred on Bendick Corners Road. Following an investigation, it was discovered that Hayes was riding a motorcycle north when he attempted to pass two other vehicles moving in the same way.

At this precise instant, a third vehicle was turning left onto the Fulton Montgomery Community College campus. The vehicle and the motorcycle collided while turning. Hayes died of his injuries at the Albany Medical Center after being transported there.

As a result of the driver’s cooperation with police investigations, no charges or authorities have been filed against them. The deployment of the airbag resulted in minor injuries to the passengers. According to the police, speed and reckless passing appear to have caused the collision.
