Starting January 1, voters in Texas can ask for their postal votes. However, not all Texans can vote by mail. You can’t vote if you are younger than 65, sick or crippled, out of the country during the election, in jail but not convicted of a crime, or pregnant and due to give birth three weeks before or after Election Day.

People who are eligible to vote can get an application online from the secretary of state’s office or the election office in their town. You can print the form yourself, or you can call or email and ask for one to be mailed to you.

From February 20 to March 1, people in Texas can vote early. The 5th of March is election day.
