UGC issues fake universities list; Uttar Pradesh tops

Fake University List update: In a bid to carry its responsibility for maintaining standards of Higher Education in the country, the University Grants Commission (UGC) declared 24 universities as ‘fake’ on October 7.

While the majority of fake universities are from Uttar Pradesh followed by Delhi, the UGC advised aspiring students not to pursue higher education courses with such self-styled universities/vishwavidyalaya.

The UGC revealed that there are 24 such self-styled fake Universities/Vishwavidyalayas on the records of the Commission which are functioning in contravention of the provisions of the UGC Act, 1956.

 

Fake University List: Here is UGC notification says

“Universities which are not established under either Central or State or UGC Act and hence, these institutions are fake universities/vishwavpidyalayas and do not have any right to confer/grant degrees.”

List of 24 fake universities as follows:

Delhi
