What Happened After Charles Manson’s Death: Charles Manson, whose name has become synonymous with horrifying acts of violence committed by cult members, altered the course of American history irrevocably. In the summer of 1969, his cult, the Manson Family, terrorised Los Angeles, and his dominion of terror culminated in the brutal murders of Sharon Tate and others.

Rosemary and Leno LaBianca were also brutally murdered during these two evenings of terror. Manson was judged guilty of orchestrating the murders of his sect members Tex Watson, Susan Atkins, Linda Kasabian, and Patricia Krenwinkel, despite his motivations being questioned.

The murder rampage committed by the gang sent shivers throughout the nation. When California abolished the death penalty, Charles Manson’s death sentence was commuted to life in prison. Manson served his entire sentence in prison without ever being granted parole.

Illness and Death of Charles Manson

Early in 2017, Manson’s health began to drastically deteriorate. When doctors detected internal bleeding and then colon cancer, it became evident that his time on earth would be brief. Due to the progression of his illness, he was admitted to a Bakersfield hospital in November, and he perished of cardiac arrest and respiratory failure on November 19.
