Micah Materre was born in Chicago, United States, on November 9, 1962. In 2023, she will be 60 years old.

Her entire upbringing was spent in Chicago with Louis and Vera Jeanne Bradley. Before becoming an insurance broker, her father operated a painting business, while her mother was a school administrator.

Louis served in the Korean War between 1952 and 1954. For his service in the Army, he was awarded the Korean Service Medal with two bronze service stars upon his discharge.

In 1960, six years after he left the Army, he met his wife Vera Jeanne; they fell in love instantly and were married within six months.

As Micah grew older, her enthusiasm for journalism grew. After graduating from a local secondary school, she attended Drake University and earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism four years later.
