When Dracula Met King and Del Toro: There is a new horror film hailed by horror masters like Stephen King and Guillermo del Toro. Fans of Bram Stoker’s Dracula will be pleased to know that the picture is based on The Captain’s Log, where the vampire travels to London.

The Last Voyage of the Demeter is an upcoming film directed by André Vredal and starring Liam Cunningham, Corey Hawkins, Aisling Franciosi and David Dastmalchian (Oppenheimer).

In addition to Bela Lugosi, Christopher Lee, Gary Oldman and most recently Claes Bang, Javier Botet can add “Dracula” to his acting resume.

Now that the movie is out, critics are everywhere. Horror writer Stephen King: “I was skeptical about THE LAST VOYAGE OF DEMETER, but this is a throat-breaking time. It reminded me of the best Hammer movies of the ’60s and ’70s.”

It’s been 126 years since Bram Stoker’s Dracula was released, but Hollywood is still making a mess, as the New York Post’s Johnny Oleksinski pointed out. Copies of The Last Voyage of Demeter are now available in the United States. A UK release date has not yet been set.
