Alaska PFD September 2026: Some Alaska residents could receive a Permanent Fund Dividend payment this month if they’re still waiting for money from an older application. The Alaska Department of Revenue has confirmed that another payment run is set for September 10, 2026.
The payment is for 2025 and earlier PFD applications that have an “Eligible-Not Paid” status on September 2, 2026. This isn’t a new payment for everyone in Alaska. It mainly covers people whose older applications were already found eligible but hadn’t been paid yet. The state’s PFD website confirms the September 10 payment date.

The next confirmed payment date is Thursday, September 10, 2026. To be included in this payment run, a person’s 2025 or earlier application must show “Eligible-Not Paid” on September 2. The state has already listed this date in its official payment schedule.
This September payment should not be confused with the main 2026 PFD payment. The two payments are for different groups of applicants. The Alaska PFD Division also says direct deposit information can be updated before monthly payment dates. If a bank rejects a direct deposit, the payment can be delayed while the state sends a check instead. Applicants can check their status through the official Alaska PFD website.
The approved 2026 payment is $1,200 per eligible person. It includes a $1,000 Permanent Fund Dividend and a separate $200 one-time energy relief payment. The state’s 2026 budget provided funding for both parts.
The final amount came after lawmakers debated different PFD figures during the budget process. Earlier proposals were higher, but the final budget settled on $1,000 for the PFD plus $200 in energy relief.

The $1,200 amount is for the main 2026 dividend. Someone receiving money on September 10 because of an older unpaid application shouldn’t automatically assume that this payment is their 2026 PFD. The Alaska Department of Revenue says the 2026 PFD is based on being an Alaska resident during all of 2025 and meeting the other program rules. Applicants also need to intend to remain Alaska residents indefinitely.
The main 2026 PFD payments are scheduled for October. According to the Alaska PFD Division, applicants who filed online, chose direct deposit and are determined eligible for payment by September 18, 2026, are scheduled to receive their money on October 1, 2026.
Applications determined eligible by October 12, 2026 are scheduled for payment on October 22, 2026. This includes both web and paper applications. Paper checks will be mailed from Juneau starting October 22.
People whose applications become eligible after these dates won’t necessarily lose their payment. The PFD Division says it continues to make monthly payments after the main distribution dates.
