California Monthly $725 Payment: Who Qualifies and When It Arrives in August?

Sacramento families in California’s FFESP program will get their next $725 payment on August 15, 2025, by direct deposit or mailed check, with eligibility based on lottery selection for 200 households.

California Monthly $725 Payment: In California, a program called the Family First Economic Support Pilot is still running strong in 2025, giving a big help to families in Sacramento who need it the most. It started back in December 2024 and will keep going until November 2025. Families who got picked for it receive $725 every single month without a break. This money comes no matter what, as long as the year of help hasn’t ended.

Life in California, especially with high prices and inflation, can be very tough for low-income households. The help is aimed at families with young children in certain parts of Sacramento.

The way the program works is a bit like winning a prize. Only 200 families can join, and they are picked by lottery. That means being chosen is partly about luck. Once picked, families know they will get steady money every month for the whole year, which can be a huge relief when bills pile up or unexpected costs happen.

Who can receive these $725 monthly payments?

To be considered for this program, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Residence in Sacramento County, within one of the following ZIP codes: 95815, 95821, 95823, 95825, 95828 or 95838.
  • Be the parent or legal guardian of a child under the age of 5 who lives with you at least half of the time.
  • Have a family income below 200% of the federal poverty level. For example, a family of four must earn less than approximately $62,400 per year.
