Unlike some federal assistance programs that issue benefits based on Social Security numbers or case numbers, CalWORKs cash benefits are generally deposited on the first day of each month. If the first falls on a weekend or state holiday, deposits may be processed on the preceding business day or the next available banking day, depending on the county and EBT processing schedule. Official guidance indicates that July 2026 benefits are expected to be available beginning Wednesday, July 1, 2026, for eligible households.
