Chase has refreshed the Sapphire Preferred Card with new travel credits and bonus categories while removing some popular benefits, keeping the annual fee unchanged at $95.
Chase Revamps Sapphire Preferred Card: Chase is giving the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card a big update, but the annual fee is not going up. It stays at $95. The new version starts on June 15, 2026 for both new and existing cardmembers, and Chase says the goal is to add more value for travel and everyday spending while keeping the same price.
The card is adding more ways to earn points. Cardmembers will get 3x points on gas and EV charging, 3x points on vacation homes at brands like Airbnb and Vrbo, and the card will also keep its strong travel and dining earning structure. Chase is also adding a $100 Chase Travel hotel credit each account anniversary year.
The old $50 hotel credit is being replaced by this bigger one. On top of that, there is a new up to $120 credit every four years for TSA PreCheck, Global Entry, or NEXUS. Chase is also adding Emergency Evacuation and Transportation coverage.

There is also a one-year Apple TV subscription for cardmembers who activate it by December 31, 2026. Chase says this perk has a $156 value. For many people, the hotel credit and the airport security credit may feel like the card is “paying you back.”
Not every change is a win. Chase is cutting back the World of Hyatt transfer rate for Sapphire Preferred cardholders. The old 1:1 transfer ratio is changing to 4:3, which means 1,000 Chase points will now become 750 Hyatt points. For people who apply on or after June 15, 2026, this new rate starts right away. For people who already had the card before that date, it begins on October 1, 2026.
Chase is also ending the 10% Anniversary Bonus. If someone applied before June 15, 2026, they can still earn that bonus through October 1, 2026, and the last bonus points will be paid by January 31, 2027. Anyone approved on or after June 15, 2026 will not get that benefit at all.
Air France-KLM Flying Blue Cardholders Can Now Earn 3X Miles on Rent
It also keeps no foreign transaction fees, primary rental car coverage, trip delay protection, trip cancellation and interruption insurance, baggage delay insurance, and transfer partners for hotel and airline programs. DashPass membership also continues through December 31, 2027.
