What is the August 2023 payment schedule for Social Security benefits?

In the month of August, there are two categories of Social Security Income Payments to be aware of: Supplemental Security Income as well as standard Social Security benefits.

In August 2023, Supplemental Security Income payments were already made on August 1, a Tuesday. Therefore, you should already have collected this.

If you received Social Security before May 1997 or are receiving both Social Security and SSI, you would have received Social Security on August 3 and SSI on August 1.

Regular Social Security benefits are paid to everyone else based on their birthday, as follows:

  • If your birthday falls between the 1st and 10th of August, you will be paid on the 10th.
  • If your birthday falls between the 11th and 20th of August, you will be paid on the 17th.
  • If your birthday falls between the 21st and 31st of August, you will be paid on the 24th.

The above schedule indicates that the majority of individuals have already received their August Social Security benefits.

Those with a birthday between the 21st and the 31st of the month are the only individuals who have yet to receive their deposit; they will receive it on the following Wednesday.
