SSDI Payment May 2024: What’s the Schedule for Disability Benefits Next Month?

Your Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) check will arrive based on your birth date.

SSDI Payment May 2024: Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) pays eligible workers’ monthly expenses based on their work history. Payments are deposited into your bank account every month, but payment dates can vary.

Your Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) check will arrive based on your birth date.

When will SSDI checks be deposited?

In May 1997, the Social Security Administration (SSA) adopted a staggered payment schedule much like households and businesses.

The following schedule is used to issue payments according to birth date each month:

Your payment will be made on the second Wednesday of each month if your birthday falls between the first and the 10th.

Your payment is due on the third Wednesday of each month if your birthday falls between the 11th and the 20th.

You can expect your payment on the fourth Wednesday of each month if your birthday is between the 21st and the 31st.

The third of every month is the payment date for people who started receiving disability benefits before May 1997. There are a few exceptions to this rule, but most Social Security benefits are deposited electronically into a bank account or to a Direct Express Debit Mastercard.

For those still receiving paper checks, wait three business days after the check is typically mailed before contacting the Social Security Administration.
