Stimulus Payments in December 2025: Only Two States Sending Payments in December

Some Americans will still receive payments in December 2025. Only Alaska and New York are sending out year-end checks, with PFD batches and inflation rebates continuing into early 2026.

Stimulus Payments in December 2025: As the year 2025 comes close to ending, many families in America still struggle with high prices and rising living costs. The big federal stimulus checks from past years are gone, but some states still run their own rebate or relief programs. These programs try to give people a little extra money and help them deal with inflation.

Alaska and New York

Only two states will keep sending checks through the rest of December 2025, and these states are Alaska and New York. Alaska keeps paying money from its Permanent Fund, while New York sends a special one-time check to help residents handle higher prices. Both states have their own deadlines and rules so the people need to make sure their information stays updated if they want to receive their money.

Alaska’s program is called the Permanent Fund Dividend, also known as the PFD. It is a yearly payment that people in Alaska know very well. For the 2025 payment, the state set the amount at $1,000 for each eligible resident. Most people already got their money earlier in the year, but the state still sends payments to people whose applications are still being looked at or were approved late.

When is the next Alaska PFD payment?

Payments for 2025 applications (and earlier) that are in “Eligible-Unpaid” status are distributed in the following batches:

  • December 18, 2025: For applications with eligibility status confirmed by December 10, 2025.
  • January 15, 2026: For applications with eligibility status confirmed by January 7, 2026.

New York Inflation Relief Checks

New York created a different kind of program. The state approved its very first inflation relief check as part of the 2025-2026 budget. These checks are one-time payments, and the goal is to help families deal with higher sales taxes caused by inflation. The state has millions of people who qualify, so the mailing process takes a long time.

$2,000 Stimulus Check Rumors: What the IRS Actually Says

Checks started going out at the end of September 2025. Since over 8 million people qualify, New York cannot send all the checks at once. Instead, they mail them in waves. This means many people will still get their check in December, and some might even wait until early 2026 for their envelope to arrive.
